Abdullah’s biography, first published, in 1849 provides insights into Singapore, Malacca, Johore and the Riau-Lingga region of the 19th century. A. H. Hill’s translation of 1949 is considered the first complete annotated version. His introduction offers a good summary of Abdullah’s life. This version has an index.
