Accessing Reference Items
Accessing Reference Items
The National Library provides the largest public collection of reference materials and reference service in Singapore. It aims to be the premier resource centre for materials on Singapore, Southeast Asia and Asia serving the research and information needs of researchers, professionals and the general public. These collections and services are accessible through the Lee Kong Chian Reference Library (LKCRL).
The collections are for reference only and are not for loan. Some special formats materials and older Singapore materials are kept in the Closed Stacks (RCLOS). These can be requested for onsite consultation.
The Lee Kong Chian Reference Library houses different collections at each level:
-
Level 7: Business, Science and Technology collections
-
Level 8: Arts, Social Sciences and Humanities collections
-
Level 9: Chinese, Malay and Tamil collections and the Asian Children's Literature collection
-
Level 11: Singapore and Southeast Asia collections
All our collection items can be found in our online Catalogue. Click on “View All Libraries” to display the respective locations of individual items at each library.
Listed here are the different item locations you would see for items from the LKCRL.
